Seven militants, three of them Pakistani intruders, and a soldier were among 11 persons killed in separate incidents in Jammu & Kashmir since Saturday night, a police spokesman said.

The intruders were killed when security forces foiled an infiltration bid near the Line of Control in Poonch district on Sunday morning, the spokesman said. A soldier was wounded in the exchange of fire.

Rizwan Qamar alias Abu Hafiz, a militant belonging to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Tayiba, was killed in an encounter with the army at Shopian in Pulwama district.

Two terrorists were killed in a gun battle with security forces in Dhok Wali village in Poonch early on Sunday.

Another terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces at Mutgala in Udhampur district, the spokesman said.

Jawan Ram Karan Singh was killed in an exchange of fire with militants at Village Bhelti, 8km from Doda town, he said.

A person named Fayaz Ahmad Mir was killed when he was caught in the crossfire between terrorists and security forces in a village in Baramulla district.

Police on Sunday found the body of a shopkeeper abducted by terrorists on Saturday night, at Hanjipora in Pulwama.

Militants barged into the house of one Solayman in Khous area of Rajouri district and shot him dead.

The spokesman said police found a live grenade in a village in Pulwama, which was later defused by a bomb disposal squad.

Security forces apprehended two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in downtown Srinagar and recovered some arms and ammunition at their instance.
