Punjab Public Service Commission chairman Ravinderpal Singh Sidhu was arrested on Monday night for allegedly accepting illegal gratification from a government official.
Sidhu has been arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 500,000 from an inspector of excise department and promising to promote him to an executive rank in the Punjab Provincial Service, police said.
Sidhu will be produced in the court on Tuesday.
