At least 52 people were injured when terrorists carried out two grenade attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, a police spokesman said.

Fourteen people, including ten terrorists and a woman, were also killed in separate incidents since Thursday night, he said.

The grenade attacks were carried out at Shopian chowk in Pulwama district and near a bus stand in Anantnag district, the spokesman said.

In the first explosion, terrorists hurled a grenade towards security forces at around 1045 hrs, but it missed the target and exploded, injuring 35 people, including a policeman, he said.

Fifteen more civilians and two Central Reserve Police Force personnel received splinter injuries when terrorists threw a grenade at the Anantnag bus stand around 1540 hrs, he added.

Meanwhile, two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists, Manzoor Ahmad Koka and Altaf Ahmad Najar, were killed in an encounter at Gogal village in Anantnag district on Thursday night, the spokesman said.

The encounter broke out when a Border Security Force team raided the hideout of the militants, he said.

Two Tehreek-i-Jehad-e-Islami terrorists, Manzoor Ahmad and his Pakistani accomplice Shamas-ur-Rehman, were killed in another encounter with security forces at Theon-Badi Pathri near Kangan, 40 km from Srinagar on Thursday night, the spokesman said.
