Governor M M Jacob administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers, all of cabinet rank.
They are H B Dan, Dr Donkupar Roy, O N Chyrmang, B B Nongsiej, Kyrmen Susngi, Mulieh Singh, R A Lyngdoh, J A Lyngdoh and R L Tariang.
Kohonglam told reporters in Shillong that the dropped ministers would be accommodated as chairmen of various departments.
They are Sujit Sangma, F Momin, C B Marak, Tony Curtis Lyngdoh, K K Dkhar, K C Boro and Augustine D Marak.
However, the Congress, a major partner in the ruling coalition, indicated that it would withdraw support to the government.
