J&K mosque siege ends; two militants killed

The siege around a local mosque at Nowpora Mirgund ended on Tuesday morning with security forces killing the two militants, holed up inside since Monday evening.

Official sources said that both the militants -- one identified as Sher Gazi of Gilgat -- were killed by sharp-shooters without causing any damage to the mosque.

Two AK rifles and some magazines were recovered from the slain militants.
