Militants on Monday morning attacked the heavily guarded frontier headquarters of the paramilitary Border Security Force with rifle grenades at Rawalpura area of Srinagar.
One BSF soldier was hurt in the attack. The headquarters houses the office of the Inspector General of BSF.
Senior police officials have rushed to the spot and security forces have started combing operations to nab the terrorists who carried out the attack.
