100 kg RDX recovered in Jammu, three ultras killed

Security forces on Sunday recovered 100 kg of RDX after killing three militants in an encounter at Naka Majari in Poonch district of Jammu division, defence sources said.

Acting on specific information, an operation was launched in Naka Majari on Sunday morning and, in the ensuing encounter, three militants were killed followed by the recovery of arms and ammunition.

The recovery, apart from the RDX, included three AK rifles with five magazines, three RPG rounds and one radio set, they said, adding the identity of the slain militants was being ascertained.

Meanwhile, Pakistani troops fired heavily on civilian areas at Arnia along the international border in Jammu division killing a villager and wounding another, official sources said.

The firing from across the border began early in the morning triggering panic and injuring two villagers, one critically who died on the way to a hospital, the sources said.

They said BSF personnel returned the fire, adding damage on the other side, if any, was not known.
