5 hurt in attack on J&K minister's house

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

Five members of the Central Reserve Police Force were injured when militants attacked the heavily guarded house of Jammu & Kashmir Law Minister Mushtaq Ahmed Lone at Sogam in Kupwara district with a hand grenade on Monday evening.

Police sources said the condition of two of the injured troopers was serious. All five of them have been admitted to hospital.

Lone, however, was in Srinagar at the time of the attack and all his family members are reported to be safe.
