Militants abduct, torture and kill civilian in J&K

In a gruesome act, militants killed an abducted civilian after chopping off parts of his body in Banihal area of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said in Jammu on Thursday.

Mohammad Yousif of Sanigam village in Banihal tehsil, who was kidnapped by militants on the night of June 2, was tortured and later killed, the police spokesman said.

Police found the deceased's severed head and left arm wrapped in a gunny bag near the J&K Bank office in Neel village of Banihal tehsil on Wednesday, he said.

Police has begun investigation into the incident, he said.
