Goa polls: Some of the important results

Former Goa chief minister and Congress leader Fransisco Sardinha has won the Curtorim assembly constituency defeating his nearest rival Bruno Lourence, an independent, by 2,851 votes.

While Sardinha polled 8,907 his nearest rival received 6,056 votes.

In Savordem, BJP nominee Vijay Tendulkar defeated Anil Salgaoncar, an independent by a margin of 3,038 votes.

Incumbent Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has retained his Panaji assembly seat by defeating his nearest Congress rival Ramesh Silimkhan by 1292 votes.

Former chief minister Ravi Naik of the Congress defeated his nearest rival and former Union minister Shripad Naik of the BJP in Ponda assembly constituency by 1,320 votes.

Karl Vaz of the Congress won the Mormugao assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Shaikh Hassan Haroon by 762 votes.

Alexo Sequeira of the Congress defeated United Goa Democratic Party rival Radharao Gracias by 4,754 votes in Loutolim assembly constituency.

In Navelim, former chief minister and Congress leader Luizinho Faleiro defeated his nearest independent rival John Raikar by a margin of 4577 votes.

In Velim constituency, independent Philip Neri Rodrigues defeated his nearest Congress rival Marcus D'silva by 5516 votes.

In Mandrem, BJP state unit chief Laxmikant Parsekar defeated former Union minister Ramakant Khalap by 908 votes.

In Tivim, BJP's Sadanand Shet defeated his nearest Nationalist Congress Party rival Nilkant Harnalkar by a margin of 521 votes.

In Benaulim, former chief minister Churchil Alemao was defeated by UGDP's Mickey Pacheco by a margin of 1,051 votes.
