The Central Bureau of Investigation has confirmed that the tehelka.com poaching case has been transferred from Saharanpur court to Central Bureau of Investigation court in Ghaziabad.
Kumar Badal, a tehelka.com photo journalist, has been arrested for allegedly conniving with two poachers and paying them money for filming the killing of animals in the Jim Corbett National Park.
Speaking to rediff.com CBI spokesman S M Khan said, "The matter would now come up before the CBI court in Ghaziabad on July 17."
Meanwhile, tehelka.com has denied reports that its journalists had tried to put pressure on the investigating officer in Saharanpur to 'hush up' the case after the police arrested two poachers, who led them to Kumar Badal.
"There is no truth in these allegations. You know the kind of propaganda that has been unleashed against tehelka.com after we exposed corruption in defence deals in Operation Westend," Tarun Tejpal said.
