Ram Temple not an election issue for BJP: Kalraj Mishra

The construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya is not an election issue for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly poll, state unit president of the party Kalraj Misra said on Tuesday.

"BJP did want a majestic temple at Ayodhya, which would only materialise if all parties concerned agreed or on the basis of the Supreme Court verdict," he told a press conference in Lucknow.

Mishra said the party would highlight combating terrorism and expose those who spoke against the menace in public, but caused hindrance in taking of action against the culprits.

He alleged the Samajwadi Party was supporting elements engaged in terrorist acts.

Mishra said BJP members who had filed their nominations, as rebel candidates, would be expelled from the party.
