J&K: Boy allegedly set afire by BSF jawan succumbs

Nazir Ahmed Bhat, who was set on fire allegedly by a BSF personnel at Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir on December 29, on Wednesday succumbed in a hospital in Srinagar.

The BSF jawan deserted the force soon after committing the crime in his camp at Sopore.

Thousands of people took to the streets at Naidkhai in Baramulla district when the tenth standard student's body was brought to the village.

Former Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, addressing a gathering, said, "The Centre is responsible for the ongoing turmoil in Kashmir."

He asked the government to 'stop bloodshed and destruction of properties in Kashmir'.
