Hurriyat leader survives another attack

In the third incident of its kind, unidentified gunmen attacked the house of senior Hurriyat Conference leader Abdul Gani Lone on Thursday night but no loss of life or damage was reported, police said on Friday.

The gunmen opened fire at his Sanat Nagar residence in Srinagar around 2230 hours prompting his security guards to return the fire, which lasted for 15 minutes, they said.

Lone and his family members were inside the house at the time of the attack.

This was the third attack on Lone during the past two months.

In November, unidentified gunmen fired a few shots at his house and on Christmas, an unknown person threw a hand grenade at his parked vehicle in Doda town.
