J&K: Two of three abducted persons freed

Militants on Friday freed two of the three persons abducted from a village in Trikuta hills, where the holy cave shrine of Vaishno Devi is located, even as security in and around the temple was further tightened, an official spokesman said.

Nizamuddin and Sandeep Singh, who were used as guides by militants, were released after a brief encounter with security personnel, he said adding they were later taken for questioning by Special Operation Group personnel.

The fate of the third abductee is not yet known, he said.
