In a gruesome incident, suspected Lashker-e-Tayiba militants killed the father of a Special Police Officer after chopping off his nose and ears in Rajouri district, official sources said on Thursday.
Heavily armed LeT militants, who were in search for SPO Mohammad Yasin, swooped on village Bachay in the dense woods of Rajouri district and cordoned off the house of his father Mohammad Tanzeem on Wednesday, the sources said.
Failing to trace the SPO, the militants reportedly kidnapped his father Tanzeem and took him to the upper reaches of the area.
He was severely tortured for hours before the ultras chopped off his nose and ears and threw him down from the hilltop, the sources said.
The state police, following a massive operation, traced Tanzeem's body.
His body has been handed over to his family members after post-mortem.
On getting the mutilated body, the agitated villagers raised slogans against militants and police, they said.
