Rajnath Singh's condition 'stable and fine'

December 03, 2002 17:59 IST

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Rajnath Singh, who was injured in a road accident on Sunday, is "stable and fine", civil hospital sources in Ahmedabad said on Tuesday.

"We requested him to stay at the hospital for the night just to observe him and be absolutely sure that he is all right," doctors said.

The doctors, however, could not confirm if Singh would continue his canvassing schedule.

Singh met Virendra Sengar, the journalist who was injured when their car collided with a state transport bus.

Sengar has sustained a fracture on his arm apart from several injuries on his head, chest and legs. He might have to be operated, hospital sources said.

The condition of National Security Guard commando, Arvind Kumar Bhadoria, was better. The car driver, Sanjay Naik, died in the accident.
