Fair election in J&K will enhance country's image: Abdullah

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Friday said fair election in the state would enhance India's image and credibility in the international fora.

Interacting with election officers during the demonstration of electronic voting machines that are being used in the state for the first time, Abdullah called for holding demonstration programmes at the grass roots level to acquaint the voters with the new method of voting.

The chief minister also urged the electronic media to make the voters aware of the new method so that they can exercise their democratic right smoothly.
