10 people injured in grenade blast at Rajouri

Ten people were injured, one of them seriously, when a grenade exploded at the Malik market in Rajouri in Jammu division on Monday afternoon, the police sources said.

An unidentified militant hurled a grenade towards a shop around 1300 hours, the sources said, adding the explosion caused damage to the shop, injuring ten people standing nearby.

Following the explosion, panic gripped the area.

Police parties along with senior officers rushed to the site and cordoned off the entire market area and launched a search operation to nab the culprit, they said. The condition of one of the injured was stated to be critical and was being brought to Jammu Medical College Hospital for specialised treatment.

This is the second blast in Rajouri town during the last fortnight. Earlier, two persons were killed and 26 others injured in Rajouri town on the evening of July 23.
