BJP, BSP to form coalition government
in UP

Bahujan Samaj Party leader Kanshi Ram met Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani on Tuesday and discussed the formation of a BSP-BJP government in Uttar Pradesh.

The meeting came a day after BSP vice president Mayawati had called on the home minister and discussed the issue.

Reports have indicated that the two parties have already sewn up an alliance under which Mayawati would be the chief minister and the deputy chief minister's post would go to the BJP.

Two senior UP leaders of the BJP -- Om Prakash Singh and Satyadev Pachauri -- said efforts were on to draft a common minimum programme for the coalition government.
