One killed, 35 injured in J&K blasts

One person was killed and 35 others injured in two powerful grenade explosions in the capital city of Srinagar and in the south Kashmir township of Kulgam on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, tension was still high in the Mendhar and Akhnoor sectors following night-long fierce firing exchanges between the Indian and Pakistani troops.

Sources said Indian artillery had retaliated in both sectors last night.

"The sectors experienced heavy firing exchanges last night," said a police officer.
