3 BSF personnel killed by J&K militants

Three members of the paramilitary Border Security Force were killed, and two others were wounded in a militant ambush at Daksum in Southern Anantnag district early on Thursday morning.

Police said militants attacked a vehicle carrying soldiers belonging to the 77 BSF battalion near Daksum with grenades and automatic rifles, resulting in the on the spot death of three jawans.

The injured were shifted to hospital. Sources said BSF reinforcements rushed to the spot immediately.

The militants, however, managed to escape. No one has yet admitted responsible for the attack.
