Delhiites have no respite
from 'monkey man'

Attacks by the mysterious 'monkey man' continued in various parts of the capital on Friday night leaving seven people injured, even as the Delhi police arrested at least 12 people for spreading rumours and making hoax calls.

Joint Commissioner of Police Suresh Roy told UNI that 48 calls were received by the Police Control Room from east, north-east and south Delhi.

Seven people were injured in alleged attacks by the 'monkey man' on Friday night. All seven injured bore scratch marks.

The Delhi police has warned those spreading rumours and arrested 12 people, including seven in the Gandhi Nagar area, for making fake distress calls to the Police Control Room.

A doctor, who was trying to scare children in Ganesh Nagar, was arrested on Friday night.

Meanwhile residents in the worst-affected areas of Geeta Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Farsh Bazaar, Shakar Pur and Preet Vihar continued their night vigil.
