Indians should make sure that the 21st century belongs to India, Home Minister L K Advani said in Bonn (Germany) on Sunday evening.
"Just as the last century belonged to Europe, the 21st century can very well be India's century," Advani said addressing the Indian community in Bonn.
Just as the single goal of Indians early last century was to achieve independence, they now have to define their new goal and work towards achieving it, he added.
Germany is the first stop in Advani's three-nation tour, which includes Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. The Union home minister would be signing an extradition treaty with Germany.
