RJD leader shot dead in Muzaffarpur

Assailants gunned down Rameshwar Yadav, a prominent Rashtriya Janata Dal leader, at his residence in Muzaffarpur in Bihar on Saturday.

Yadav was shot dead by three gunmen while he was reading a newspaper on the verandah of his house.

He received three bullets in the head and died on the spot, the police said.

Yadav, a former general secretary of the RJD's Muzaffarpur district unit, was an accused in the recent murder of another local RJD leader, Sanjay Thapa, and in a case of assaulting former defence minister George Fernandes.
