Osama starts fresh recruitment

Saudi Arabian millionaire turned terrorist Osama bin Laden has launched a fresh drive to recruit volunteers to fight for the cause of Islam in different places, including Kashmir.

This was revealed in a 100-minute videotape, circulated by hand in many Islamic countries, some reports said on Friday.

In the videotape, bin Laden appeals to his "brethren living in countries allied to Jews and Christians to prepare for holy war".

According to the report appearing in The Times, much of bin Laden's verbal attack is directed at Israel, vowing to support Palestinian cause with "blood and destruction".

"To all mujahideen, your brothers in Palestine are waiting for you [and] it's time to hit America and Israel where it hurts most," he says in the videotape.

Although bin Laden denied involvement in the suicide attack on the USS Cole, which killed 17 sailors, the warship features prominently in the video.

The tape also shows scores of well-armed fighters chanting "We thank Allah for granting us victory the day we destroyed the Cole."

The tape ends with an appeal to viewers to copy it and distribute it among supporters.

Though it is not clear when the film was shot, experts believe it was compiled over the past few months, as there are references to US Secretary of State Colin Powell.
