One of the militants holed up in a mosque at Village Milyal Lone Harray in Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir was killed in a fierce gun battle with security forces on Wednesday.
Police sources told rediff.com that the gun battle erupted after security forces spotted a group of militants inside the village mosque.
"Firing is continuing and we have reports that there are three militants still inside," said a police officer.
The army and paramilitary forces have surrounded the mosque and are returning the fire.
