At least six women were feared drowned in Nabarangpur district in Orissa after their boat capsized in river Bhaskel, senior police officials said on Monday.
The boat carrying 25 persons, all residents of Tarapur village in Chattisgarh, was swept away by strong currents.
"While six persons drowned, others managed to swim ashore," police said.
Only one body had been recovered at the time of filing this report.
