Nine killed in Kutch clash

Nine persons were killed and 22 injured in a clash between members of two communities over a land dispute at Surbhava village of Kutch district on Wednesday morning.

Gujarat Minister of State for Home Haren Pandya told reporters in Gandhinagar that lethal weapons were used in the clash between members of the Gadhvi and Koli communities.

Fifteen of the injured were admitted to Rapar hospital and seven others to Bhachau hospital, he said, adding that both groups have lodged police complaints.

Border Range Deputy Inspector General A K Singh and other senior officers have gone to the village and brought the situation under control, the minister said.
