A senior Border Security Force officer was killed in an exchange of fire during a raid on a house in village Yichu Kokernag in Anantnag district.
Police sources said that a BSF party led by the officiating commandant raided a house in Yichu. However, the raiding party came under fire resulting in the death of the R S Ahlawat, the officiating CO.
Army reinforcements rushed to the spot. The militants managed escape.
