The Special Task Force, appointed for implementation of the Srikrishna Commission report, Saturday filed a first information report against former minister of state for home Gajanan Kirtikar and five others.
The FIR was filed against Kirtikar, Nandakumar Kale -- both sitting Shiv Sena legislators, Ravindra Waikar, Raghunath Kadam, Kashinath Gavkar and Lala Pratap Singh, for their alleged involvement in 1992-93 communal riots, in the aftermath of the Babri Masjid demolition, STF sources said in Bombay.
The STF on May 26 had registered an FIR against former city police commissioner R D Tyagi and 16 others, in connection with the police firing in Suleman Bakery, that had claimed nine innocent lives in 1993.
The Democratic Front Government constituted the STF with K P Raghuvanshi as chief for implementation of Srikrishna Commission report, which was earlier rejected by the Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance government.
The commission report had mentioned the bakery incident.
The Srikrishna Commission, which had probed the communal riots of 1992-93 and subsequent serial bomb blasts of March 1993 in the aftermath of the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, had indicted Sena supremo Bal Thackeray among others.
