President KR Narayanan, who was admitted to a hospital here on July 25 with a viral infection, was discharged on Saturday.
Following his release from the Army Research and Referral Hospital, Narayanan, 81, returned to Rashtrapati Bhavan, his office said in a statement.
"The President, however, has been advised rest by medical doctors for the next few days," the statement said.
