An earthquake of moderate intensity rocked Delhi and other parts of north India on Monday night.

The quake, measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale, had its epicentre near Bhaun in Pakistan at 38.8 degrees North latitude and 72.9 degrees East longitude, the Indian Meteorological Department said.

Patna and a few other cities in Bihar also experienced three mild tremors, official sources said in Patna.

The tremors were reported from Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur and a few other townships in Bihar, but the intensity of the quake could not be recorded as there was no equipment in the MET office, the sources said.
