10 hurt in grenade explosion in J&K

Mukhtar Ahmad in Sri Nagar

At least ten civilians were injured, five of them seriously, in a grenade explosion in the main market area of Awantipur in the Southern Pulwama district on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Saturday.

Militants hurled a grenade on a paramilitary patrol party. The grenade missed the target and exploded on the road resulting in injuries to bystanders.

Five of them were injured seriously and were brought to Srinagar for specialised treatment.
