The militant Gajen Bhuyan, alias Joon Kalita, allegedly trained in Myanmar, was arrested by the army from the official residence of Additional SP (security-North Lakhimpur) Bidyut Buragohain on Friday, sources said.
Bhuyan had stayed in the residence of the police official and used his official telephone allegedly for extortion, sources added.
Based on information given by him, the army nabbed two other ULFA militants - Khargeswar Doley and Dhiren Sonowal - from a nearby village.
The army recovered one 9mm pistol and some live ammunition from the militants.
