Official who rejected Jayalalithaa's nomination transferred

Backward classes welfare officer of Theni district, S Jaya, who rejected All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief Jayalalithaa's nomination papers for the recent assembly elections, was transferred on Friday, official sources said.

She has been put on "compulsory wait."

Jaya was posted at Theni district only six months back.

When contacted in Theni for reaction, Jaya said: "Many officials have been transferred and I am one among them. I hope I will be given a posting in the next two or three days."

"There is no personal enmity between the chief minister and me. Any other person in my position would have done what I did," she added.
