NC MLA's brother shot dead in Baramulla

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

Militants on Friday shot and killed the brother of a ruling National Conference legislator in Rohama village of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Police sources said militants fired at Abdul Majid Mir, a businessman and younger brother of Member of the Legislative Assembly Dilawar Mir, at the bus stand in Rohama village.

Abdul Majid was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Police sources said security forces rushed to the spot and launched search operations.
