The police have arrested a terrorist belonging to Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda network in Jammu, sources said on Monday. He was planning to target high security MLA hostels, they said.
Four persons have been arrested following the interrogation of the terrorist, identified as Asayub Ahmad Sarogi alias Ayubi, the sources said.
Ayubi, 24, a resident of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, was arrested from a house in Jammu city's Tallab Tilloo area recently, the sources said, adding that he was the second Al Qaeda terrorist to be arrested in the country. The first one was Afroz Ahmed, who was arrested by the Mumbai police some time back, the sources said.
The Special Operation Group and the Jammu police are still interrogating Ayubi, the sources said.
As per Ayubi's information, the Al Qaeda network has spread across the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Uttar Pradesh.
