Govt may adjourn Parliament
sine die: Advani

The government is contemplating all options, including resorting to a sine die adjournment of Parliament, in the wake of the opposition stalling the proceedings in both Houses over the CAG issue.

Passing strictures against the Ministry of Defence, a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General has pointed out financial irregularities in purchase of weaponry during the Kargil operation.

"Our parliamentary affairs minister is in touch with the Lok Sabha speaker and opposition leaders and trying to resolve the present impasse. The government is considering all options," Union Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani said when asked if Parliament would be adjourned sine die if the current impasse continued.

He said the government is making all efforts to resolve the present situation and it would have to be seen in the next couple of days how things shape up.
