16 CRPF jawans among 20 injured in IED blast in Doda

At least 20 persons, including 16 members of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force, were seriously wounded in a powerful bomb explosion on the Jammu-Doda highway late on Wednesday afternoon.

The police said the CRPF vehicle hit the improvised explosive device, while on way to Jammu near village Malohri in Doda district.

"Due to the massive explosion, the vehicle of the 33 battalion was extensively damaged," said a police source.

"One woman and her two children also received injuries in the explosion," the source said.

The injured were immediately shifted to hospital, even as the police and security forces rushed to the spot for combing operations.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
