Kashmir varsity teachers advised
not to organise picnics

For the first time since the eruption of militancy 12 years ago, university authorities in Kashmir on Wednesday advised teachers not to organise picnics for students in view of increase in militant violence.

"It is notified for the information of all heads of the teaching departments that in the current security scenario they are advised to avoid picnics," an order issued by Kashmir University's Vice Chancellor Jalees Ahmad said.

More than 2000 students have enrolled for various courses in the university.
