Two arrested in mosque demolition case

Two persons were arrested on Tuesday in the mosque demolition case in Asind town of Rajasthan's Bhilwara district, police sources said.

They said the accused, who belonged to the Gurjar community, were arrested under Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code, for causing damage to religious places.

The sources said the town still remains tense.

On July 27, the day of the annual urs (religious festival) at Asind, some miscreants had allegedly demolished the sole wall (kalindari) of the mosque located in the Sawaibhoj temple trust area.
