Lashkar vows to 'catch and kill' Indian troops

The head of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorist group on Friday warned that separatist guerrillas would 'catch and kill' Indian soldiers if they stepped up their operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Freedom fighters are well equipped to face the Indian forces. We have been fighting them and we will force them out," Hafiz Saeed told Online news agency.

"I had made it clear before the Agra summit (last month) that the talks would fail as India was not sincere in bringing peace to the region. I am not against talks but certainly against insincerity," he added.

"The jehad will continue until liberation. Halting of freedom war is subject to withdrawal of Indian forces from Kashmir territory," he said.

"We plan major operations against the Indian military installations in Kashmir and would continue to carry such actions until liberation. India has itself opted for war. We are not to be blamed for this," he added.

Authorities have blamed the Lashkar for a string of terrorist attacks in Kashmir since the July 15-16 summit in Agra between India and Pakistan collapsed.
