India to continue highlighting
Pak-sponsored terrorism

India on Sunday said it would continue to highlight the menace of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism at various international fora, as it was attaining dangerous proportions and posing a serious threat to peace in the subcontinent .

"Countries have to be educated about the menace of terrorism as it is attaining dangerous dimensions and posing a threat not only to India, but also the world," Minister of State for External Affairs Omar Abdullah said.

"The world will have to evolve a composite strategy to fight terrorism. We have circulated a draft -- Comprehensive Convention to International Terrorism -- which is currently under discussion in the United Nations, to address these concerns," Abdullah said.

"Early finalisation of the convention would show a determination to strengthen international cooperation in the fight against terrorism," he stressed.

Commenting upon Saturday's massacre of 15 Hindus in Doda district, Abdullah said, "Such incidents, which are the handiwork of Pakistan's intelligence, would hamper restoration of peace process between the two neighbours."

The minister said Pakistan, as a confidence building measure, needs to rein in militants, failing which Islamabad will have to regret its continued support to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
