I am still in the race, insists Jaya

AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha Wednesday announced that she was seeking legal opinion in the wake of the rejection of her nomination papers to contest the May 10 assembly election.

Jayalalitha, who was on her way to Melur constituency for campaigning, when asked about projecting a chief ministerial candidate for the secular front at this juncture, retorted that she was still the front's candidate for the top post.

Jayalalitha replied that the alliance partners continued to extend ''cordial support to the AIADMK'' even after the rejection of her papers.

Expressing confidence that the secular front would register a landslide victory in the coming elections, she said her party cadres were striving.
