He said two militants, believed to be foreigners, were killed in an encounter at Darugmulla in the frontier district of Kupwara on Monday evening. Two AK rifles, six magazines, two rifle grenades and one wireless set were seized.

He said militants, late on Monday night, entered the home of one Ghulam Nabi Hajam at Branthi Batpora in south Kashmir and started firing, killing the house owner and wounding his brother.
