'This is a case of gross legal impropriety'

Date: Thu, 07 Sep 2000, 23:00:38EST -0700
Subject: The Tangled Plot

I enjoyed reading the story. It clearly says that the land in question does not belong to Mrs Mala Anand. I would like to see a follow up article that investigates and reports as to who the real culprits are. I think rediff.com should take up this issue to educate people about the corrupt practices of our politicians and bureaucrats.

It is nice to see that rediff has started exposing such cases. We need to expose our bureaucrats, the chief justice and all these so- called guardians of the law. These people need to be severely punished for the crimes they commit.

Mala Singh and Sushila Singh are trying to cheat the government. They should not be given a single penny.

No one in the country should be above the law. People like these should be punished.

All along we thought that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh was different from the lot of politicians we have. But after this episode, we are convinced that he is no different from the others.

Keep up the good work, Rediff.

That was a superb article exposing corruption in judicial circles and in the government.

If all the facts in your report are true, it is a clear case of the chief justice being a willing -- and even enthusiastic -- party to the intimidation of the subordinate courts, lawyers and the state government, aimed at ensuring a favourable legal decision in his wife's favour. At best, this is a case of gross legal impropriety and acquiescence in the misuse of office by a justice of the Supreme Court, as the present chief justice was then.

That was a very good report. More such reports on your site will make for interesting reading.

This whole case is nothing but a big fraud perpetrated against public interest. Having read the two parts you have put together so far and the original as well as the followup articles in Kalchakra and Frontline respectively, it would not be inequitous to conclude that but for the status of the plaintiffs, something like this could never have happened!

Good work! I look forward to the rest of it.

An interesting article on the hardships of the Kashmiri people. It got me thinking about about jobs in Kashmir and I was wondering why can't television and other media use these unemployed youth to file stories, bring out their first person misery, take photographs and provide video coverage? Won't something like this help these youth?
