MCC activists kill seven People's War activists

Our Correspondent in Patna

At least seven people were killed in two different acts of violence in Bihar on Sunday night.

Extremists of the Maoist Communist Centre stormed two villages in Palwa and Jorakhurd and killed seven people who were supporters of the rival People's War group.

They also set ablaze half a dozen houses of PWG supporters. The report reached the police late as the village is based in the interiors of the state where communication links are not uptodate.

This incident comes on the heels of the extremists killing four policemen in South Bihar on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Arvind Pandey, general secretary of the Bihar Indian Police Service Association has demanded landmine sweepers and bullet-proof cars for policemen patrolling the extremist-infected areas.
