'One can't compare such extremists groups with the LTTE'
Date:
Tue, 10 Oct 2000, 22:03:48EST -0500 It is time to flush the country of such useless people who are lunatic enough to seek a separation from India. What is the elected government of Tamil Nadu and India doing to protect us from such forces? Could rediff.com file a public interest litigation in this regard? Vallinayagam Sankar

Tue, 10 Oct 2000, 15:32:38EST -0700 A good article though I am not in favour of disintegrating India at any level. Dinesh Nain

Tue, 10 Oct 2000, 13:58:06EST -0700 How strong are these Tamil Nadu liberation groups? If it is a small group of about 50 members or so, then they should be ignored. It is such exaggerated press coverage of an insignificant, yet dangerous group by major forums such as Rediff that gives validity to their existence. Clearly, one can't compare such groups with the LTTE. Ananth

Tue, 10 Oct 2000, 16:25:35EST -0400 A good article. These people who are demanding a separate nation are not aware of the consequences of their action. It is an act of fanatic regionalism, I hope the people of Tamil Nadu and the government are sensible enough to curb this movement as soon as possible. Something like this could spread like an epidemic into the other states as well and could well result in the disintegration of India. Such movements should be nipped in the bud. Jayash

Tue, 10 Oct 2000, 13:32:29EST -0500 The timing of this article is highly unacceptable. When the current need in India is for everybody to come together, accept diversity and work for a better and modern country, such articles do not help this cause. The aim of an article should not merely be to grab attention. And that is what this article is trying to do by making a few scoundrels like Veerappan look like a revolutionary. Shanmugam

Tue, 10 Oct 2000, 13:22:53EST -0400 The article is outdated and you are talking about a movement of little significance that happened in the past. Guru Ragothaman
Date:
Tue, 10 Oct 2000, 12:21:08EST -0500 It seems as if you have a hidden agenda -- partitioning India all over again. I C Nishad

Mon, 16 Oct 2000, 17:59:16EST +0530 This news item is alarming. We have a lot to be concerned about, more so because our government is so spineless. This is a dangerous trend. Raaj

Thu, 12 Oct 2000, 11:44:18EST +0200 This is another attempt by dirty elements to confuse the people of Tamil Nadu about the conflict for Eelam.

Wed, 11 Oct 2000, 12:56:31EST -0700 I think the author is reading too much into this matter. If you keep featuring such articles on your site you will only end up losing readers. P L Subramanian

Wed, 11 Oct 2000, 23:31:16EST +0530 That was a great story, very well written. Venkitesh Ramakrishnan
Date:
Wed, 11 Oct 2000, 17:40:54EST Maaran and others like him including Veerappan who think they can fight a war against India have very few days of their lives left. All this is nonsense and will be over soon. Dennis Lilley

Wed, 11 Oct 2000, 12:15:58EST -0400 I do not agree with the idea of partition. If that were the case, every state would go for it and what would they gain? I don't know why these people want a separate land. Samar Nitin
Date:
Wed, 11 Oct 2000, 11:13:47EST +0200 This is related to very small percentage of Tamils and does not deserve any publicity.

Wed, 11 Oct 2000, 13:50:57EST +0800 Tindugal is not Dr Ramadoss's base, it is Tindivanam Raja

Tue, 10 Oct 2000, 21:50:24EST -0700 Publicising such movements is irresponsible journalism. What you probably do not realise is that you are giving an image and an identity to these cynical, misled people who don't deserve it and would not have even expected it! Siva

Mon, 09 Oct 2000, 09:30:04EST -0700 This is a ridiculous article. I have heard of stretching the truth, you have not only stretched it but have twisted it as well. As for this TNLA, TNRT or whatever, show me one state where there is not a movement for a separate state or nation. A movement with five extremists is hardly a people's movement. I agree that the DMK had a separate Tamil Nadu in their agenda. But that was 1962 and they formally dropped it. Just because we don't have the insane nationalism of the North Indians (by electing the right wing nationalists) doesn't mean that we want a separate homeland. Yes, we want to retain our culture and just don't want to identify with the people in the North. We have a language which gave us a rich literature, a culture which is unique and we don't want to spoil all these by introducing a language which, in my opinion, is good for the masses of Bihar.
