Contract killer escapes from J&K jail

A contract killer, who was facing trial for his involvement in the killing of a National Conference district leader broke out of the high security Kishtwar sub jail on Friday and escaped.

The contract killer Akhtar Husain who hails from Doda was serving a sentence in the case pertaining to killing of Munshi Qudratullah, district president of the NC, in July earlier this year.

The Inspector General of Police (Jammu region) R V Raju informed on Saturday morning that a red alert has been sounded in and around Kishtwar town and all out efforts were being made to trace the killer.
